UAN Activation is necessary for the Employee. Because only after that the Employee can avail the UAN Member Portal facility provided by the EPFO. Each and every Employee needs to Activate UAN Number to availing these online facilities. UAN stands for Universal Account Number which was introduced by EPFO – Employee’s Provident Fund Organization India. UAN is a Unique 12 digits number assigned to an EPFO Cover employee. UAN Number is like an umbrella for the Member ID of a particular Employee.
UAN does act like a Marker for an Employee Member ID till his/her retirement. The major motive to launch UAN concept to link multiple PF account numbers allotted to a Single EPFO Covered Employee by different-different Companies & Organization under one UAN number. Then, he/she will provide the same UAN number at time joining a new Company/Organization. After that, it is very easy for new Employer to link the New Member ID under the same UAN number of that Employee.

How to do UAN Activation ?
The Screen given below facilitates members to opt for UAN Activation based registration. As well as login to this Portal. As this is the first screen of this portal.
The instructions to be followed by Members for its full utility along with information and advantages of this portal are well defined. The hyperlink for FAQ has also been given.
Once member press the button “Activate UAN based registration”. The following screen appears wherein the member has to tick on the option given that you have read and understood the instructions.
After ticking on the above option, the below screen allows members to actually activate UAN based registration. Member has to feed their UAN, Mobile Number, and Member ID. After feeding the characters shown there on the screen. The member has to press the button “Get PIN”. Within few minutes, OTP PIN will come on your mobile number using that pin.
You need to submit the record declaring that the details provided belong to you understands that your mobile number will be recorded. In the case of any complaint regarding misuse of the facility and/or false declaration, your details may be handed over to the appropriate authority for suitable action.
Once you click on the Submit button the message will appear as per the below-posted screenshot. Stating that the member credential is verified. This screen allows the member to create the password for login to this portal. To have an access to the facilities provided in the UAN has driven UAN Member E-Sewa Portal. User Name will always be your UAN.
How to Create Password After UAN Activation?
Here, a member needs to enter the Father’s name and Date of Birth in case it is blank and creates the Password as per the choice. Which should be alphanumeric, have minimum 1 special character and 8-25 character long. Special Characters are !@#$%^&*()
Sample Password:: abc@1990
After submitting, following screen will come and the message will go to the member’s Phone for successful registration. To access UAN driven member Portal. The Member must memorize this username and password to use it further.
Once a member has Activate UAN Based Registration. They can anytime login to the portal by using his/her username and password created by them.
